Seven-year-old Cole Dalton, a grade 2 pupil at Hudson Primary School, has raced his way into the hearts of many by clinching the mini four-stroke Border Karting Club Championship in East London this year.

Cole’s love for racing began at a young age, and with the unwavering support of his parents, Ryan and Candiz Dalton, he’s been able to turn his passion into a growing success story.

“This achievement means the world to me,” Cole said.

“My parents support me in everything I do, and that gives me so much confidence.”

Reflecting on his year, Cole shared his excitement about the challenges and camaraderie on the track. “I’ve really enjoyed racing my four-stroke kart this year. The competition has been amazing, and I’m looking forward to an even closer race next year.”

But it’s not just about trophies for this budding racer.

Cole expressed gratitude to his peers, saying: “I want to thank all the other young kart racers. We get along so well, both on and off the track.”

Cole also gave special thanks to Paul Berry from Miles Autocare, who ensures his kart is always race-ready, as well as his family and friends who cheer him on at every event. “Turbo Racer Cole is ready for action in 2025!” he said.

For Candiz and Ryan, Cole’s success is about more than racing; it’s about building character and creating memories. “As his parents, we’re unbelievably proud of him — not just for his achievements but for how he carries himself,” Candiz said.

“His sportsmanship is remarkable for his age. Even when things don’t go right, he keeps his head held high and gives his all.”

The Daltons see racing as a valuable life lesson, teaching Cole resilience and teamwork.

“When the kart doesn’t perform the way he wants, we remind him that life — and racing — has its ups and downs. The important thing is to enjoy the journey and learn from every experience,” Candiz said.

The Daltons hope to keep Cole in the driver’s seat for years to come. “Racing is in his DNA,” Candiz said. “He’s had a passion for it from a young age, and we want to keep that fire burning.”

“We’d love to see him go far in karting, improve his skills, and get faster as time goes by,” Candiz said. “We want him to give his best while having fun.”

As 2025 approaches, Cole is ready to keep the momentum going. With his determination, supportive family, and love for the sport, the future looks bright for this young racing star.

“Cole, we wish you all the best in life. We love you and will always be your biggest fans,” his mom said.
