At the annual SA Council for English Education (SACEE) prize-giving held recently, pupils winners were honoured for their achievements in the various SACEE events this year.
Merrifield Prep and College are proud of their pupils who were recognised.
Merrifield College was awarded first place overall and received the trophy for the SACEE high school dux with the Prep being placed second in the primary school dux category.
Two College students received top awards. Grade 9 student, Neve Bowen, out of 3,498 other pupils writing the SACEE Language Challenge, attained 98%, the highest mark in the country.
Merrifield grade 11 pupil, Amara Odugwu, attained 98%, second in the country out of 2,519 pupils.
Madison Goliath, in grade 11, received one of 15 golds that were awarded for poetry.

Merrifield Prep pupils performed exceptionally well. Grade 7 pupil, Cooper Goliath, who received one of 15 golds awarded for poetry. Another notable achievement came from grade seven pupil, Eoin Mackriel, who received 1 of 17 golds for short stories awarded nationally.
