This week we chatted to Afika Mazwi, one of the founders of the newly established events company, Majestic Events.
Q: What services do you offer?
A: We offer a high level of services for various indoor and outdoor functions. We hire tents, chairs, mobile fridges and toilets. We also furnish and decorate.
Q: How did your events company come into existence, and what inspired you to enter the industry?
A: The inspiration was solely personal growth and financial goals. It was started for the challenge of starting something from scratch, learning new skills, and, of course, building a profitable business.
Q: What kinds of events do you specialise in?
A: We specialise in both indoor and outdoor functions including weddings and birthday parties.
Q: Tell us about your team and their roles?
A: I have a dedicated team that comprises four staff members.
Q: What vision do you have for your company, especially as a newcomer in the events business?
A: The company’s vision is to become the preferred choice for event equipment hire and event organising. We also aim to be the most customer-centric company.
Q: Could you walk us through some of the key services you offer and what clients can expect from you?
A: Each client can expect a tailored approach, ensuring that each detail aligns with their vision and goals. They can also expect reliability and professionalism; a team that is reliable, on time, and committed to delivering as promised.
Q: With so many event companies on the market, what sets your company apart from others?
A: Unlike larger companies that may become impersonal, we maintain close communication with clients, ensuring they are always informed and involved. We also go beyond by truly getting to understand each client’s vision, personality, and story.
Q: With the festive season coming up, do you have any special events or packages planned?
A: We are available for bookings this festive season. Each event is tailored according to the client’s vision, so we do not offer packages, however, we do have some discounts for the festive season.
Q: What have been some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced so far, and how have you overcome them?
A: We are a fairly new company so the biggest challenge so fare has been getting new clients for the business.
Q: If you could collaborate with any local or national brand, who would you choose and why?
A: Locally, I have been collaborating with Azipheli Events Galore, a local bakery, and events planning company. I would also be delighted to collaborate with any government department and any youth-owned company.
Q: What advice would you share with someone also looking to start their own business?
A: My advice is to plan properly and just start.
