REACH for a Dream recently spoilt nurses from the Frere Hospital for International Nurses Day by treating them to lunch and giving them goodie bags.
The head office of the organisation partnered with Ocean Basket to give nurses they work with around the country a free meal.
Reach for a Dream executive committee member Cheryl Petzer said they wanted to acknowledge the key role of nurses.“We can’t fulfil dreams if it’s not for nurses. Thank you for touching lives daily,” Petzer said.
Dream coordinator Marlene Crozier said: “We targeted nurses we work with – the nurses that help with our referrals. They do amazing work. So it is nice to say thank you because we are adding to their workload,” Crozier said.
The hospital often refers children with life-threatening diseases to Reach for a Dream to have their dreams made a reality.
