STIRLING music pupils received many special mention awards and medals in the Port Rex Lions Eisteddfod held in May.

Sive Sogoni received the Petro Ferreira award for the Best Junior Pianist.

The Arthur Kay Award for the Best Junior Piano Ensemble was shared by Ella Cadle, Suzanne Strauss, Hannah Francis, Sive Sogoni and Matthew Malan. Gia Urbani, Likhona Jaca and Inga Wait won the Samson Award for the Best Junior Instrumental Ensemble, and Likhona Jaca and Taitem Corrigan were the Best Junior Vocal Ensemble and received the George Mountjoy Award.

In addition, Stirling’s band won the Cambridge Junior Award for the Best Primary School Ensemble and the Selborne Primary Award for Best Primary School Band.

Stirling’s three choirs also all received gold awards.

Out of a total of 27 duet, trio and individual entries, Stirling received a further seven Special Mention Awards, 10 golds and 10 silvers.
